The past two years have been difficult for everyone living in Deschutes County. We have been locked down, isolated, masked and forced to get an Emergency Use Authority inoculation if we wish to keep our job. It has caused anger, frustration and despair. It has given us a sense of hopelessness. This is not the American way.
Every one of us has so many heartbeats. Once that last beat is finished, we will instantly know how we should have lived and for the vast majority of us, it's too late. Months, years after our bodies are in the ground or ashes in an urn, no one will remember who we were or care ... except One. Jesus Christ.
Jesus is the lover of our souls. He is our Creator. He was sent to us by God to pay the price for our sins. He alone can give you the peace that surpasses all understanding. He will clothe you with righteousness. He says, "Come to me all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest." All you have to do is confess you are a sinner before God. Then ask God for the forgiveness of your sins. Tell him you believe Jesus is His Son and that God rose Him from the grave. Then repent from your current lifestyle and ask him to heal you. When we come with a broken and contrite heart, God answers our prayers and restores us. He is amazing. There is none like Him.
Then ask him for that abundant life he promises in John 10:10. He is faithful and will honor that request. He gives you a new life. He makes you born again. But hold on to your lug nuts. He will take you for the roller coaster ride of your life. Passion and fulfillment will be your new emotions. And you will become an other centered person with rewards unimagined in your previous life.
